Who: Dany and Rhaegar Targaryen
Where:Dragonstone Casa Targaryen
When: about six months after Complainte de la Butte
What: Time to fix the ground rules.
Warnings: discussions of incest and abortion
Dany walked down the hall to Rhaegar's office slowly, clutching the newspaper. Tabloids had picked up her partying before, but always as a random picture in a column with ten others like it of other people. Buried. This was the first time she'd been really featured, and worse, an actual reputable newspaper had picked it up. It was part of a larger piece about the culture of decadence in America, than kind of bullshit, but her name was in the headline and she was featured heavily. She figured chances were good Rhaegar had already seen it, but if he hadn't, she had a chance to control the circumstances when he found out. Ten minutes from now, he'd know one way or the other.
She paused outside the door, taking a deep breath and running a hand through her hair. This was the right thing to do. She had to set the boundary, make it clear that she was not his wife, and change where she was going with her life. And she had to get out of this house. If that rumor started circulating, they were really fucked.
She knocked lightly on the door, then pushed it open, taking a half-step inside. "Hey," she said softly. "You busy?"

He shifted to stand, walking around the desk to move to the couch before gesturing for her to join him.

"Have you seen the paper today?" She was an adult, yes, but her actions didn't only affect her. With a name like hers, the reputation of the whole family was at stake, and this one article had done damage that would last for years, if it ever went away at all. Viserys' bullshit was bad enough.

He watched her for a moment. "...Is there something I need to know, Daenerys? I know you usually keep a low profile but.."

"I'm out of control," she said simply, shaking her head a little. "I don't need rehab or anything. I don't think. But I'm heading that way if I don't make a change soon." She was looking at Rhaegar's knees, not his eyes. "I'm...exceptionally good at dodging paparazzi. And if I was fucked up enough for someone to get those pictures, if I was that careless..." She shrugged and shook her head a little. "Yeah. It's not good."

"...Do you need me to do anything?"

"No, I don't need you to do anything." She shook her head again, slightly distressed, and tried to organize her thoughts into something she could put into a sentence that made sense.

She really needed to tell him about the abortion. But how did you say something like that? He wasn't giving her any good openings.
